Kenyan Diplomats Boost Beyond Zero Kitty

Kenyan High Commissioners and Ambassadors abroad today presented a cheque of Ksh 1.54 million to First Lady Margaret Kenyatta in support of the Beyond Zero campaign. Presenting the cheque on behalf of the diplomats, Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Cabinet Secretary, Amb. Amina Mohammed said Kenyans are proud of the First Lady’s campaign of improving maternal and child health. “There is no single Kenyan who has not been touched by what you are doing and what you have achieved,” she said. She said Kenyans appreciate what the First Lady is doing and will continue supporting her in the great course of improving maternal and child health. Speaking on behalf of the envoys, Kenyan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Ambassador Lazarus Amayo commended the First Lady for taking bold steps to prevent maternal and child mortality. “We are proud of you Your Excellency. You have gone a step further not only to identify the problem but also to engage the means of solving it,” said Amb. Amayo. The First Lady thanked the Kenyan diplomats for their generousity saying there is a lot of feedback from the ground on the positive impact being made through the Beyond Zero campaign.
