Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am honoured to join you this afternoon during this Spouses of Heads of Mission Association (SHOM) meeting that you have kindly invited me to. Allow me to express my sincere gratitude to H.E. Dr. Michal Mlynar and Mrs. Andrea Mlynar for hosting this event.
I note with appreciation that the diplomatic community in Kenya has greatly benefited our country and it is because of your tireless efforts that we have built a firm foundation of bilateral relations between Kenya and each of your nations.
Kenya has been lucky to have many friends. In a world where every nation seeks the betterment of its people, many of you have brought hope to the poor and to underserved areas through your noble initiatives.
I believe that the world cannot see sustained growth and development without co-operation and mutual understanding.
This meeting is an important pillar on which such relations can be strengthened, not only from a diplomatic perspective, but also at a personal level.
We need to encourage similar meetings more often so that we can strengthen the bonds that unite us, leverage the power of partnership and co-operation and share cultural experiences.
As you are aware, Kenya has recently put more effort into contributing towards regional and global agendas. We have a large pool of young and well educated human capital full of interesting ideas. Exchange programmes between our countries will go far in encouraging our youth.
I wish to thank H.E. Dr. Michal and Mrs. Andrea Mlynar for the great work you have done in our country.
Finally I would like to take this opportunity to formally invite you all to the 9th Stop Breast, Cervical and Prostate Cancer Africa Conference scheduled for 19th to 21st July at the Kenyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi. You can learn more about this important event by visiting the 9th SCCA website.
I am grateful to you all for sharing your time with me and I’m sure that the bond we have formed here today will be for the benefit of our people and our nations.
