CABINET MEETING HELD ON 28 JULY 2016

Today, His Excellency the President chaired the Sixth Cabinet Meeting 2016, where the following Policy issues were deliberated and agreed.
(1)        Order to settle all Pending Payments to Suppliers Cabinet directed Ministries to immediately settle all pending payments to suppliers giving priority to Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities under the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO). (2)        Joint Venture for Currency Printing Cabinet approved the Joint Venture between Government of Kenya and De La Rue Currency and security printing company. Under the new arrangement, a special purpose vehicle will be formed through which the Government will acquire a 40% shareholding in De La Rue Kenya Ltd. This will enable the Government to earn revenue from the venture. (3)        Invasion of Private Ranches and Farms Cabinet directed the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government and all law enforcement agencies to prosecute all those who have invaded private ranches and farms in Laikipia, Kilifi and other parts of the country. (4)        Flying of EAC Flag and Anthem Cabinet approved and directed the hosting of the EAC Flag in all Government Officers and Public Institutions with immediate effect. As further set to the EAC integration, all schools will be required to hoist the EAC flag and sing the EAC Anthem alongside Kenyan Flag and National Anthem. The EAC flag and Anthem will be hoisted and sung respectively in all public events alongside the Kenya National flag and Anthem.
This is indented to boost and promotion the EAC integration.
