SPOKESPERSON’S STATEMENT ON POSTPONEMENT OF PRESIDENT KENYATTA’S TOUR OF WESTERN KENYA

On July 19, 2018 In Statements and Speeches

Yesterday, I spoke to the postponement of His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Tour of Tharaka Nithi and Meru Counties. Further to this, I would like to state that his visit to Western Kenya has also been postponed. This is the last week provided by the IEBC for political parties to submit their nominations list. President Kenyatta wants nominees to focus on this important democratic process. The president is keen to ensure that all processes are fulfilled as required by guidelines provided for by the necessary institutions mandated to ensure a credible nominations process is carried out. Dates for these tours will be communicated at a later date.
