KAJIADO, 7 Feb 2018 (PSCU) – President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged politicians to focus on serving Kenyans instead of concentrating on distractions, games and sideshows.
The President said the time for empty politicking is over and leaders must embark on serious work to avoid shortchanging the electorate.
“I ask every leader – right across Kenya – to remember that this is the time to get down to work. The elections are over. The people of Kenya have chosen their leaders. They now expect you to set aside distractions, games and sideshows; and to focus your efforts on building our nation,” President Kenyatta said.
The President was speaking today in Kajiado County where he inaugurated a $280 million cement clinker plant that has created 700 jobs that are set to increase tenfold in two years.
Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku and his Machakos counterpart Alfred Mutua echoed President Kenyatta’s sentiments that Kenyans need to focus on work that will develop the country since the season of campaigns is now over.
Governor Lenku pledged his full support to President Kenyatta's Big Four Agenda, saying that is the way to go in achieving the country’s development goals.
